George Named SBC Female Performer of the Week

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. - Middle Tennessee junior Kishara George was honored as the Sun Belt Conference female track performer of the week Monday after breaking a school record in the 400-hurdles at the Yellowjacket Invitational last Saturday.
George, who qualified for the NCAA Regional in two events at the Georgia Tech meet, set the Middle Tennessee record in the 400-meters with a time of 59.23, besting her previous record time of 59.27 established in 2003. George finished fourth overall.
George also was on the Lady Raiders' 4 X 400 relay team, which finished fourth with a NCAA-regional qualifying time of 3:42.92. The Middle Tennessee track team will participate in the Sea Ray Relays in Knoxville, Tenn., Saturday.
