Ojeda returns just two players from last year's club, Ann-Kristin Siljestrom and Claudia Szabo, and has three newcomers who will take part in this weekend's event - Kelly Adams, Pooja Kommireddi and Marlene Chemin. The squad has been working very diligently, both as a team and individually, preparing for their three fall events.
"Right now we want to do everything we can to improve on each player's game as a whole," Ojeda said. "We've been breaking things down, rebuilding, adding to it, trying to figure out what type of game they want to play. January is our goal to where we go all out, so right now we're improving, learning, strategizing with each player.
"We want to use the weekend to put the last three weeks of practice into play and continue to improve in the coming weeks. It's a building process with the individual players and the team, as well."
Siljestrom enrolled at Middle Tennessee in January and posted a 15-6 singles record and a 12-9 doubles mark. Szabo had 11 singles and 11 doubles victories in 2004-05.
Adams comes to Middle Tennessee as a heralded junior player from Auburn, Ala., while Kommireddi hails from Hyderabad, India, home to former men's tennis player Anant Sitaram, and Chemin lists Augsberg, Germany, as her hometown.
The women play Friday, Saturday and Sunday in Chattanooga and will also participate in the Kentucky Fall Invitational in Lexington, Ky., September 30-October 2, before hosting the 19th Annual Middle Tennessee Fall Invitational, October 7-9.
