Middle Tennessee Clinches 4-1 Road Victory at Georgia State

ATLANTA, Ga. – Middle Tennessee (6-12) secured a 4-1 victory against Georgia State (5-10) on the road Thursday afternoon.
The Blue Raiders gained an early lead in the doubles matches. The first point for MTSU came from a forfeit by Georgia State, attributed to Sadbaroy Kholdarova and Sthefany Lima. The Panthers equalized on court one as Maria Paredes and Lamiss Haouas defeated Rutuja Chaphalkar and Zora Koenig 6-4. However, Zenn Lim and Lena Peyer answered back by winning 6-4 against Sveva Bernardi and Sara Radojevic on court two, ultimately securing the doubles point for MTSU.
Middle Tennessee continued its momentum into singles play, receiving additional points from forfeits at courts five and six from Georgia State, bringing the score to 3-0.
The Panthers managed to earn one point when Haouas won against Chaphalkar with a score of 6-3, 6-2, closing the gap to 3-1.
On court three, Lima defeated Bernardi 6-3, 7-5, clinching the match for MTSU. In the first set, Lima secured a 6-3 win, while Bernardi managed to take only three games. In the second set, Lima found herself trailing 5-3 before rallying to win four consecutive games, ending the set at 7-5.
Other singles matches were left unfinished, with Lena Peyer trailing Paredes 3-1 in the third set after splitting the first two and Zora Koenig leading Radojevic 3-2 in an incomplete match.
