Senior LB J.K. Sabb
1. What is the one thing that stands out to you more than anything else from today's practice?
"The defense came out and worked hard today. We had a bit of a down day (Friday) but I saw more enthusiasm out there today."
2. If you could play any other position on the field, what would it be and why?
"It would be corner because I feel like I can match up with any of these receivers out here. That's just me and the type player I am."
3. What is the best advice you have been given?
"Always go hard and never give up. That's what my rec coaches told me way back in the day when I was like 6, 7, 8-years-old. They told me if you are not going to go hard, just go home, and I've always tried to practice and play that way."
4. What are your thoughts on the 2006 season?
"Just win. That's all that matters to me."
5. Which one of your teammates/coaches do you find to be the most interesting on or off the field and why?
"Most of the time I am with Eugene Gross and Franklin Dunbar, and I stay with Reggie Doucet. Those three guys, they are my boys. Reggie, though, he's definitely interesting."
6. What are some of your hobbies, interests, or hidden talents that someone may not know about?
"I'm a hooper. A lot of people don't know that but all throughout the summer you could find me in the Murphy Center on Tuesdays. I like to hoop."
Senior RB Eugene Gross
1. What is the one thing that stands out to you more than anything else from today's practice?
"Just the effort, everybody is giving good effort. We may have some guys make mistakes but we never hang our head when that happened and the next play we would go out and the next play we would try to make it better."
2. If you could play any other position on the field, what would it be and why?
"Nose guard. I always wanted to play in the trenches. When I was in (youth football) I played a little nose guard, defensive end. I liked the physicalness down there."
3. What is the best advice you have been given?
"Keep faith in yourself and your ability and you can do whatever you set your mind to."
4. What are your thoughts on the 2006 season?
"I expect big things. I think we have a lot of talent here. Some people overlook us but I think we are going to go out and shock some people this year. We are going to do some things that make Middle Tennessee stand out as a big-time university."
5. Which one of your teammates do you find to be the most interesting on or off the field and why?
"I have been around so many different guys I couldn't just pick one. All of them are like my brothers. I think about J.K. Sabb and Trevor Jenkins. They are different personalities but they both bring something to the table that a lot of people don't."
6. What are some of your hobbies, interests, or hidden talents that someone may not know about?
"Probably just spending time with the fellows, playing video games or cards. We don't have a lot of time so when we do I like to spend time with them."
