MURFREESBORO, Tenn. - Middle Tennessee athletics announced today that Ideas Tees, a long-time retailer of MTSU merchandise, has been approved to manufacture Blue Raider T-shirts. Idea Tees is the first new T-shirt licensee approved through The Collegiate Licensing Company (CLC), an IMG Company that began representing the licensing rights of MTSU in July 2008.
"It is very important for the University to have local licensees like Ideas Tees that can react to "hot markets" and other consumer needs in a timely manner, "says Ryan Prowell, Director of University Services for CLC. " Local licensee can help fill a void with national licensees who might need more lead time to produce MTSU product."
Ideas Tees' web site (mtsutees.com) is devoted exclusively to Middle Tennessee merchandise. Fans can purchase anything from game day t-shirts to tents, car magnets, hats, and much more.
Ideas Teees, which was founded by John Brockwell in 1985, is located at 910 Ridgely Road in Murfreesboro. Ideas added in-house embroidery in 2007 and doubled its sewing capacity earlier this year.
Ideas Tees also offers MTSU merchandise at each home football game at its location between Peck Hall and Cope.
"Idea Tees has done a great job with the gameday tee shirts this year and we look forward to a long and rewarding relationship," said Director of Athletics Chris Massaro.
