Blue Raiders take 12-10 win in 10th

NASHVILLE, Tenn. - A double down the right field line in the 10th inning by sophomore Justin Miller scored two runs for the Blue Raiders giving them a 12-10 win over Belmont on Tuesday afternoon.
Miller ended the night 3 for 6 with two doubles, four RBI and scored one run. Miller was also part of the double play to end the ninth inning to set the Blue Raiders up for the win.
Freshman Brett Wilson picked up the win in his first appearance for the Blue Raiders as he allowed no hits or runs in two-thirds inning of work.
Junior Coty Woods picked up his second consecutive save as allowed just one hit in the 10th inning.
Also adding assistance were sophomore Bryce Brentz and junior Blake McDade who each had three hits on the night.
Belmont scored first on a bases loaded fielder's choices in the bottom of the second inning to take an early 1-0 lead.
The Blue Raiders answered quickly with a two-run shot to right field by Hines giving MT a 2-1 lead.
Belmont answered in the bottom of the inning with a two-run shot of its own by first baseman Derek Wiley to regain the lead, 3-2. Then the Bruins scored two more runs on a single to left by Nate Woods.
A double by Miller in the top of the fourth scored runners from first and second to put the Blue Raiders within one run. Then Robertson hit a double to centerfield to bring in Miller and tie the game at 5. Box singled to left give the Blue Raiders a 6-5 lead as Robertson scored from second.
Belmont scored five runs on four hits in the bottom of the fourth to take a 10-6 lead over Middle Tennessee.
The Blue Raiders scored two runs, one in the fifth and one to begin the sixth, before a long ball to left field by Brentz in the top of the sixth tied the game.
The Blue Raiders will be back in action on Wednesday, Feb. 25 when they play host to Tennessee Tech at 3 p.m. at Reese Smith Jr. Field.
45 Degree Guarantee: Middle Tennessee baseball ticket holders who have tickets from Sunday, Feb. 22 are eligible for the 45 degree guarantee.
The temperature was 34 degrees on Sunday so those ticket holders may exchange their tickets for tickets to a conference game of their choice.
Tickets may be brought by the ticket office at Floyd Stadium located at Gate 1A or by mail to MTSU Box 117 Murfreesboro, TN 37132. All tickets must be returned or postmarked by close of business on Wednesday, Feb. 25.
