MURFREESBORO, Tenn. - The Middle Tennessee baseball team closed out the weekend with a loss, falling 14-0 to visiting Louisiana in seven innings in the second game of Saturday's doubleheader at Reese Smith Jr. Field.
The Blue Raiders dropped to 27-25 on the season with a 13-14 mark in conference play, and the Ragin' Cajuns improved to 23-27 and 11-16 in Sun Belt games.
Ryan Ford, Justin Guidry and Robert Lawrence each recorded a hit, but the Blue Raiders were out-hit in the meeting 19-3.
On the mound, Hunter Adkins gave up six runs on seven hits in two-plus innings of work to pick up the loss and drop to 5-6 this season.
Cody Tollison, who helped the Blue Raiders to a memorable win in Lafayette last year, worked out of a bases-loaded jam in the third, recording a strikeout and inducing a double play. The sophomore allowed one unearned run and one hit, picking up four outs.
Four other pitchers took the mound for MT, highlighted by the duo of Jonathan Sisco and Matthew Drake combining to toss a scoreless sixth and seventh frame.
Austin Robichaux was lights out on the mound for UL, pitching a complete game and striking out six without allowing a walk.
Earlier in the day, MT fell in 10-4 fashion to the Ragin' Cajuns.
The Blue Raiders will look to get back on track when they welcome in the Tennessee Volunteers of the SEC for the final home game of the season on Tuesday at Reese Smith Jr. Field. First pitch is set for 6 p.m.
