Raiders close regular season at Chattanooga

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – The Middle Tennessee cross country teams will conclude the regular season Saturday at the UTC Front Runner Invitational at the Moccasin Bend Race Course in Chattanooga, Tennessee.
The Moccasin Bend Course will host a 5K race for the men's team and a two-mile race for the women. Joining the Blue Raiders in the field are Auburn Montgomery, Chattanooga, Fisk, FAMU, Lipscomb, Mercer and Tennessee State.
Middle Tennessee last raced at the Greater Louisville Classic with the men's team finishing fifth and the women's team seventh.
The men's team was led by freshman Geoffry Cheruiyot, who finished 21st (24:34.12) on the 8K course. Fellow freshman Hillary Rono placed 25th (24:40.53) rounding out the groups top-25 performances.
On the women's side, Rhema Cheruiyot finished 27th (17:38.94) on the 5K course with Hannah Maina finishing one spot behind in 28th (17:39.48).
Results will be posted following the conclusion of the race.
