MURFREESBORO, Tenn. - Middle Tennessee soccer hits the road for its final test before conference play begins. The Blue Raiders face Western Carolina in Cullowhee N.C. on Friday at 6 p.m. in their lone match of the week.
MT is making its first trip to Cullowhee, N.C. as the two have only met once in program history. The Blue Raiders collected a 2-0 victory against the Catamounts at home in 2003.
BLUE RAIDER BULLET POINTS:
• Western Carolina is 2-3-3 this year; the Catamounts and the Blue Raiders have faced one common opponent this season in Lipscomb in which the Blue Raider defeated the Lady Bisons 2-1 in overtime while Western Carolina fell 1-0 in overtime.
• Middle Tennessee has gone to overtime four times already this season and is 2-1-1 when playing in extra time.
• The Blue Raiders' four overtime games this season is tied for the seventh-most in MT program history. The most overtime games by Middle Tennessee in a season were in 2010 and 2007 when the Blue Raiders had six overtime games.
• The Blue Raiders have taken 95 shots this season which is the sixth-most among Conference USA teams.
• Grace Summers has four of the Blue Raiders seven goals this season. Three players on the Western Carolina have two goals this season to lead the squad.
• Two MT defenders have put away a goal this season with Emily Jorgenson and Kelsie Roberts recording a goal.
