Cross Country travels to Chattanooga

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – The Middle Tennessee cross country teams continue their season with a two-mile race for the women and a 5K race for the men at the UTC PowerAde Invitational in Chattanooga, Tennessee at the Moccasin Bend Course Friday.
The women's two-mile race will start at 5:45 p.m. (ET), while the men will follow with their 5K at approximately 6:15 p.m. (ET).
The Invite Is a double-dual meet and is slated to include seven other Division I teams, which are Chattanooga, Alabama State, Austin Peay, Georgia State (women only), Jacksonville State, UT Martin and Tennessee.
The men's squad started the season off with a second-place finish at the Belmont Invitational last weekend and had four runners finish in the top-10 overall. Shadrack Matelong captured the individual title with a personal-best 15:02.19.
On the women's side, Jackline Kiprono led the group of MT athletes for the second-consecutive year, finishing 16th overall (18:14.94), while Gladys David (18:26.07) and Hannah Maina (18:38.06) finished 19th and 25th, respectively.
Results will be posted to GoBlueRaiders.com following the completion of the meet.
