2014-15 Performance Chart/Personal Bests – Live Results - Schedule
MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – Friday and Saturday marks the second time in as many weeks that the Middle Tennessee track & field teams will compete at Vanderbilt.
The Blue Raiders are joined by Alabama, Auburn, Furman, Georgia Tech, Louisiana Tech, Louisville, Michigan(men), Mississippi, Mississippi State, Samford, SMU(women), Southern Illinois, Southern Miss, Vanderbilt(women) and Western Kentucky. In total, 15 women's teams and 14 men's team are invited to participate.
Middle Tennessee provided a good showing at last week's Commodore Indoor Invitational and excelled in the jumps. Nigel Jones set career-marks in the long jump (6.86m) and the triple jump (14.54m), while placing second in the long jump. Vincent Okot leaped 15.42-meters in the triple for the lone first-place finish for the Blue Raiders.
Outside of the field events, Hillary Rono (8:20.10) and Jackline Kiprono (4:57.24) finished second and captured personal-bests in the 3,000-meter run and the mile, respectively. Rono also was a member of the second-place 4x800-meter relay squad with Geoffry Cheruiyot, Alden Dixon and Shadrack Matelong.
The women's pentathlon events start competition Friday at 11 a.m. with the women's distance medley slated to start the running events at 7:30 p.m.
