MURFREESBORO – The Middle Tennessee cross country teams are slated to return to action Saturday at the UTC Front Runner Invitational in Chattanooga at the Moccasin Bend Race Course.

About the Blue Raiders: The MT men's squad races for the first time since the Commodore Classic Sept 18. At the Classic, the men placed third on the 8k course and were led my Amos Cheruiyot. The women's squad last raced at the Greater Louisville Classic Oct. 3. Gladys David led MT with her 27th-place finish on the 5K course.

Competition: Middle Tennessee, Chattanooga, Kennesaw State

Last Chance: MT takes on the small field at the UTC Front Runner in their last chance before the Conference USA Championship Oct. 31 in Bowling Green, Ky. The MT women's squad looks to repeat as the 2014 squad won their first C-USA Championship last season.

Previous Success: In 2014, the Middle Tennessee men's and women's teams both took team titles at the Front Runner Invite. The women finished 1-2-3-5-7 last season with Rhema Cheruiyot finishing second, Hannah Maina fifth and David seventh. On the men's side, the Blue Raiders finished 1-6 and were led by Shadrack Matelong, with Hillary Rono finishing second, Geoffry Cheruiyot third, Amos Cheruiyot fourth and Alden Dixon sixth.
