MT to Host Charlotte, Sunday

Blue Raiders lead C-USA at 2-0
MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – After starting C-USA play 2-0, the Middle Tennessee soccer team will look to win its third straight league game on Sunday when the squad hosts Charlotte at 2 p.m.
The Blue Raiders enter the weekend with a 6-3-1 overall record and outscored Southern Miss and UAB by a combined score of, 3-1, in their previous two contests.
Grace Summers scored the game's only goal – and her first since the season opener – last Friday against the Golden Eagles. With her four stops, Kelsey Brouwer moved into second place in the MT record book with 253 career saves.
The Blue Raiders continued their charge into Sunday's contest at UAB, netting two goals. The first came off the leg of Emily Jorgneson for her team-leading third score, while the second was poured in by Angie Lai, her first.
Charlotte enters Sunday's contest at 5-6 and fresh off of a, 1-0, loss at Southern Miss on Friday. The 49ers have the C-USA's second-most prolific offense and are averaging 2.09 goals per game and Martha Thomas is leading the league with 11 scores.
Kickoff for Sunday's match is scheduled for 2 p.m. and the Blue Raiders will celebrate International Day, honoring their fans from around the world.

- Senior Grace Summers scored the opening goal of the season at Tennessee Tech on Aug. 23 and again on Sept. 25 against Southern Miss. She led the Blue Raiders in points in 2014 with 14.
- Defender Emily Jorgenson leads the Blue Raiders in goals with three. The senior has scored against Western Carolina (Aug. 30), Lipscomb (Sept. 10) and UAB (Sept. 27).
- Middle Tennessee is on pace to give up the fewest amount of goals in a season in school history. MT is only allowing 0.8 scores per game, which would equate to 14.4 in the regular season. The record for fewest goals given up is 19 in 2013.
- The Blue Raiders notched five shutouts during the first half of the season. The school record for most clean sheets is nine in 2003 and 2011.
- Middle Tennessee is averaging 0.9 goals per game this season. 2014 marked the lowest goals per game output of the Rhoden era at 1.0.
- MT is outshooting opponents, 152-105 this season, 84-55 after halftime.
- Middle Tennessee has scored the fewest goals in C-USA this season (nine), but are third in goals allowed (eight).
- Kelsey Brouwer on the all-time MT lists: 259 saves (2nd), 29 wins (2nd), 22 shutouts (1st).
- If the season ended today, Brouwer's .843 save percentage would be best in school history.
- At 2-0, the Blue Raiders are ranked first in C-USA out of 14 teams.

- The last time Middle Tennessee started 3-0 in conference was 2012 when the team went 7-0 to start Sun Belt action.
- MT is 1-1-1 all-time against Charlotte and beat the 49ers in last year's C-USA Tournament, 2-1, in OT.
