Blue Raiders Play Five of Last Seven at Home
MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – With three weeks remaining in the regular season, Middle Tennessee has once again put itself in position to contend for a championship.
The Blue Raiders (15-6, 9-2) enter the home stretch tied for the C-USA lead with seven league games remaining. After playing seven of the first 11 conference games on the road, winning six, Middle Tennessee will play five of the last seven at Murphy Center.
That's good news as Middle Tennessee is 79-4 in conference home games under Head Coach Rick Insell, including a 3-1 mark this season.
Middle Tennessee will begin the home stretch against Rice Thursday. Tipoff is 7 p.m.
The Blue Raiders have won six of the last seven and 13 of the last 15.
The high-scoring duo of sophomore Olivia Jones and senior Cheyenne Parker has been a strong commodity in the Middle Tennessee lineup. Jones (20.5) and Parker (19.1) rank first and second, respectively, in C-USA scoring.
Parker is averaging a double-double with 11.2 rebounds per game, which leads C-USA. She also leads the conference in blocked shots and offensive rebounds and is second in field goal percentage.
Jones has also been a force. The sophomore standout leads the league in scoring, is fifth in rebounding, first in steals, first 3-point field goals per game and first in minutes played.
Jones and Parker are the third highest scoring duo in the country.
