"First of all, we beat a team that was playing really well," head coach Kermit Davis said. "I would like to talk about the crowd, when you make a decision (to change the time) you make it just for one reason, for the fans. The fans were great with over 5,000 people for a Thursday afternoon."
The Blue Raiders limited Marshall (9-17, 5-8) to 33 percent shooting and snapped the Herd's three-game win streak during the Blue Raiders' largest margin of victory this season.

Marshall got within four points with a quick 6-0 spurt out of the break, but the Blue Raiders proved to be too much for the visitors by turning up the pace and outgunning the Herd the rest of the way.
A 16-0 run sealed the contest shortly after halftime as MT's lead swelled to as much as 47 late in the contest.
The Blue Raiders manhandled the visitors with a 46-27 edge on the glass, while outscoring Marshall 38-22 in the paint. MT also recorded a season-high 21 assists, led by Marcus Tarrance and Jacquez Rozier with four apiece.
