54-hole event begins Monday
MURFREESBORO – The Middle Tennessee golf team will have a quick turnaround as it heads to Lafayette, Louisiana this weekend for the 30th annual Louisiana Classics. The 14-team event will be held at the Oakbourne Country Club, a par 72, 7,098-yard course.
This year's field will consist of Illinois, Illinois State, Kansas, Kansas State, Kent State, Louisiana, Middle Tennessee, Mississippi State, Northwestern, South Alabama, Southeastern Louisiana, Southern Miss, Texas State, and UTSA.
Tee times will begin both days at 8:00 AM with 36 holes being played Monday and the final 18 on Tuesday. The practice round will be Sunday at 12:30 PM.
Good news for the Blue Raiders is that the forecast is calling for temperatures in the 70s but there will be a chance of thunderstorms each day.
The Blue Raiders will once again be led by seniors Brett Patterson and Payne Denman. Patterson was the team's top finisher last week with a 5-over par 221 while Denman was next in line with a 6-over 222.
Sophomores Drake Duncan and Connor Slane, along with freshman Hoyeong Kim will complete the Blue Raiders' five for this weekend.
Live scoring for the tournament will be located at Golfstat.com
The Louisiana Classics will also be streaming action on holes 9 and 18 live throughout the tournament with commentary provided by Dan McDonald. The stream is free and will be located at ragincajuns.com.
