MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – Middle Tennessee track & field continues its outdoor slate at the fifth annual Tiger Track Classic Friday-Saturday at the Hustell-Rosen Track. Events Friday are scheduled to start at 2 p.m., with Saturday's competitions opening at 11 a.m.
The Blue Raiders are less than a week from the Yellow Jacket Invitational, where John Ampomah broke the Middle Tennessee javelin record with his 75.87 meter (248' 11.00") throw. The Ghana native is slated to compete again in the javelin once more with competition scheduled for a 6 p.m. start on Friday.
Vincent Okot also produced a successful outing at last week's meet in Atlanta, claiming the top spot in the triple jump with his 15.3 meter (50' 3.50") performance.
Prior to the Yellow Jacket Invite, six MT distance runners competed at the Raleigh Relays, with each setting personal-bests in their respective events. Hannah Maina produced the best outing of the day, earning the MT outdoor 5,000-meter record in 16:34.26.
