FINAL RESULTS
DULUTH, GA – Middle Tennessee turned in a 4-under round of 284 on Tuesday to finish eighth at the AutoTrader.com Collegiate Classic at the Berkeley Hills Country Club (par 72, 6,706 yards). The Blue Raiders had rounds of 293-285-284 in the 54-hole, 13-team event.
No. 25 Ole Miss won the tournament with an impressive 33-under par 831 total while Lipscomb and Troy finished second and third.
Freshman Ilari Saulo led the way for Middle Tennessee by carding a 6-under total of 210. Saulo, who was a combined 7-under par on the par 5s during the week, followed his second round 69 with a 1-under par 71 on Tuesday to finish tied for fifth overall. He also led the team with 13 total birdies.
Senior Joey Savoie, freshman Chip Thomas and senior Connor Slane all tied for 37th with a 218 total. After an opening round 77, Savoie bounced back with rounds of 69-72, while Thomas responded with a 2-under 70 in the final round. Slane continued his steady play with rounds of 72-73-73.
Sophomore Marcus Byrd, who was second on the team with 11 total birdies, finished with a 1-under 71 to tie for 62nd.
Senior Drake Duncan, who competed as an individual, tied for 21st with a 216 total. Duncan had rounds of 71-73-72 and was second among all individuals.
The Blue Raiders will compete next at the Quail Valley Collegiate Invitational on Oct. 24-25 to conclude the fall portion of the season.
