Women's Golf to close out fall at Cardinal Cup

SIMPSONVILLE, Ky. – Middle Tennessee concludes the fall portion of the 2016-17 schedule this week as it takes on the field at the Cardinal Cup on Oct. 23-25.
The Blue Raiders are on of 17 teams participating in the event, hosted at the Par 72, 6,393-yard University of Louisville Golf Club.
MT last participated in the event in 2014, notching a fifth-place finish while current senior Samantha Gotcher placed tied for 11th.
The 2016 edition of the event features a pair of Top 25 teams in No. 7 Florida State and No. 22 Illinois as well as East Carolina, Wisconsin, Kentucky, Louisville, Maryland, Columbia, Virginia Tech, Minnesota, Kansas, Cincinnati, Richmond, Bradley and Ball State.
Gotcher is in the lineup at the Cardinal Cup once again and will be joined by fellow senior Lacie York, sophomores Jenna Burris and Hanley Long and freshman Katherine Holmes.
Gotcher and Long have led the Blue Raiders throughout the fall, boasting scoring averages of 75.1 and 75.2, respectively, through 12 rounds.
Middle Tennessee is scheduled to go off of the first tee alongside Virginia Tech and Bradley with York leading things off at 11:30 a.m. She will be followed by Burris, Holmes, Long and Gotcher in nine minute intervals.
