MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – Middle Tennessee will end its five-game road trip with a three-game series at Big 10 foe Indiana, first pitch has been moved up to 2:05 p.m. due to impending weather.
MT has played the most road games out of any Conference USA team this season.
The Blue Raiders are coming off an impressive two-game road sweep of Memphis, who are receiving votes in the NCBWA poll. MT won Tuesday 6-5, and Wednesday 11-7.
Friday's game will be the sixth meeting between the two programs. A year ago the two teams met opening weekend in Murfreesboro. The Blue Raiders came away with the series win, after winning the final two games in extra innings.
Redshirt junior Aaron Aucker looks to continue his hot-hitting, as the Knoxville native ranks T-4th in RBI in C-USA with 14. Austin Dennis has been the glue to this MT lineup, leading the team with a .367 batting average to go along with a team-high five doubles.
Lefty Jake Wyrick is set to start again Friday, Wyrick has been stellar this season, ranking 6th in C-USA with a 1.76 ERA, T-6th with 18 strikeouts, and T-4th holding opponents to a .167 batting average. The southpaw is coming off a 6-1/3 inning shutout against Kennesaw State last Friday.
Sophomore Carson Lester will be the Saturday starter. The Murfreesboro native, looks to bounce back from a rough start in the young season.
Two-way player Devin Conn will get the nod for the second-straight Sunday. Conn started in right field in game two against Memphis Wednesday.
The Hoosiers are 1-3-1 in their last five games. Indiana tied against C-USA foe Florida Atlantic Sunday due to a travel curfew. IU dropped a mid-week game to Cincinnati and then lost the series to Samford last weekend.
Indiana will start two lefty's during the weekend with Tim Herrin starting Friday and Andrew Saalfrank getting the nod Sunday. RHP Brian Hobbie is set to start Saturday.
