The Blue Raiders look to bounce back in tomorrow's doubleheader
CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Middle Tennessee fell to Charlotte Friday night 10-2, despite great plays by the MT defense.
Senior shortstop Riley Delgado made a SportsCenter Top 10 play, making a diving snag and the incredible throw from the knees to get the out and save a run early on. The play earned recognition from the NCAA Baseball Twitter account.
Charlotte struck first with an RBI sac fly to center, taking the early 1-0 lead in the first. The 49ers collected five runs in the 5th to go up 6-0.
Ryan Kemp continues to impress as he crushed a two-run homer in the 6th, pulling MT within four runs, 6-2.
Charlotte added another four insurance runs in the seventh and eighth to put the game away.
49ers starter Colton Laws (5-0) remained perfect on the year picking up the win, while AJ Spencer (2-1) was tagged with the loss.
Seven of the nine Blue Raider bats connected for a hit in the game.
The Blue Raiders will look for revenge tomorrow with a doubleheader against Charlotte beginning at 1 p.m.
