SAN ANTONIO, Texas – The Middle Tennessee women's basketball team will look to build momentum on Thursday at UTSA. Tipoff is set for 11 a.m. in the Convocation Center for the Roadrunners annual Education Day game.
The Lady Raiders (8-6, 0-2) suffered two early conference losses for the first time in 14 years this past week, falling to rival WKU and UAB.
Scouting the Roadrunners (2-12, 0-2)
Similarly, UTSA was set back by two early conference losses this season, dropping contests to LA Tech and Rice. The Roadrunners opened their season with a 97-47 home victory over Sul Ross State on Nov. 10. After registering its first win, UTSA suffered their first setback of the season at Arizona State, 42-74, and continued on to four straight losses. The Roadrunners wrapped up their preseason play with a 2-10 record.
Senior guard Crystal Chidomere leads the Roadrunner scoring, tallying 162 points on the season to average 13.5 per game. Similarly, sophomore Marie Benson inks the best field-goal percentage for the Roadrunners, hitting 63-of-121 baskets (.521) from the field.
The Lady Raiders lead the all-time series over the Roadrunners 4-0.
Last Time Out: Lady Raiders Drop Contest to Blazers, 51-59
Senior forward Gabby Lyon paced the Lady Raider offense against UAB with 15 points, hitting 5-of-6 from the field and 2-of-2 from distance. Similarly, senior guard Abbey Sissom added 11 points while picking up three assists and a steal.
Sissom leads the team scoring, tallying 168 points in 12 outings this season.
On the defensive end, Lyon grabbed nine rebounds over UAB while senior Rebecca Reuter and junior Jess Louro picked up five apiece.

The Lady Raiders will round off their Texas road trip at UTEP on Saturday, Jan. 13 with a 1 p.m. tipoff.
