Raiders Begin Play in ITA Regional Championships

Coming off a successful home tournament, Middle Tennessee will compete in the ITA Ohio Valley Regional Championships in Knoxville. Play begins Thursday morning and continues through the weekend. Tournament History
Tom Moonen rebounded from his opening round loss to win the consolation bracket at last year's regional. Overall, the Blue Raiders had a total singles record of 19-11 in last year's tournament.
Players to watch
Gonzalo Morell Raschiatore – Morell enters the weekend as the #14 singles player in this tournament. The senior made the round of 32 last year's regional.
Pavel Motl – Motl is seeded #17 in his first regional and is coming off a 2-1 performance at the Short/LaLance Shootout. The freshman is 2-2 in singles on the season, but has often faced the top players from opposing teams.
Tom Moonen – Moonen won the consolation bracket last year and went on to have a stellar season. He's seeded #27 in singles while he and Chris Edge's nationally ranked doubles team are seeded #3. After winning a few matches at the ITA All-American, they'll have their eyes on a regional championship this weekend.
