Raiders Split Two Fall Games

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – The Middle Tennessee softball team played twice this past week and now sit at 5-1 on the fall season as they won 11-2 over Volunteer State on Thursday before falling 6-2 to Tennessee on Friday.
In the win over Vol State, Lexi Cushing and Kaylyn Slatter each hit a home run that helped MT pile on 11 runs in the win. The Blue Raiders put on an impressive hitting display with 16 hits as Lani Rodriguez led the effort reaching base all five times with four hits and finished a home run shy of the cycle.
On Friday, the Raiders were neck and neck with the Lady Vols for most of the game. Amber Baldwin held UT scoreless for two innings and left the bases loaded twice in her four innings on the mound. Cushing and Rodrguez provided the offense with each collecting an RBI.
