Annual Salute to Veterans & Armed Forces game set for Nov. 2

MT faces old rival WKU
MURFREESBORO - The Middle Tennessee football team will host rival WKU in the 37th annual Salute to Veterans & Armed Forces game on Nov. 2. Kickoff is set for 7 PM from Floyd Stadium.
MTSU will have a Veterans Memorial Service, pregame picnic, along with the presentation of the annual Dr. Joe Nunley Award.
The Veterans Memorial Service will begin at 3:30 p.m. at the Tom Jackson Building on campus. Following that, the pregame picnic will start at 4:30 p.m. on the lawn of the Kennon Sports Hall of Fame. The Dr. Joe Nunley Award ceremony will commence at 5:30 p.m., also on the lawn outside of the Kennon Sports Hall of Fame. Kick off for the game is at 7 p.m.
The MTSU pregame picnic, following the Veterans Memorial Service, will be held for all veterans and active service members. During the picnic, the Army Tennessee National Guard band will perform.
All veterans, service members and their families will be able to pick up complimentary tickets to the football game courtesy of State Farm and Pepsi. Mission BBQ and Steel Barrel Brewery will provide a free meal and beverages to all veterans, active service members and their families.
During the game, Middle Tennessee will give a game day ball and halftime salute conducted by the Band of Blue to salute and honor veterans.
Middle Tennessee is also teaming up with Toys for Tots. At each gate, a Toys for Tots cart will be available for a new or gently used toy donation.
