Volleyball Wraps Up Regular Season Slate in Florida

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – The Middle Tennessee volleyball team travels to Florida for a pair of Conference USA matches this weekend. This weekend marks the final two games of the regular season for the Blue Raiders.
Middle Tennessee will travel to Miami, Fla. on Thursday, Nov. 8 for a 6:00 p.m. contest against the FIU Panthers. Meanwhile, the team will round off their season on Sunday, Nov. 11, taking on the Florida Atlantic Owls at noon.
Last Time Out
The Blue Raiders enter the contest after dropping back-to-back home contests to North Texas and UTSA. Senior Bailey Mason led the teams attack last weekend, recording 18 kills on 42 attempts. Likewise, Mason added nine digs and two blocks in both home conference matches. Meanwhile, junior Brienna Tankesley controlled the Blue Raider back row, inking a combined 18 digs in both contests.
Senior Mason, Leading the Way
Mason has been leading the Blue Raider offense throughout the season. The Forsyth, Ill. Product has recorded 266 kills on the season to average 3.09 kills per set. Mason leads the team in total kills and service aces (26). In Conference USA play, the senior has represented the Blue Raiders in 38 sets while ranking first on the team in kills (122), averaging 3.21 kills per set in conference matches. Mason also represents the team in the conference's top-20 performers in three of the seven categories. This season, Mason also earned her first Offensive Player of the Week honor from the conference office after leading the team to back-to-back sweeps earlier this season.
Junior Tankesley, Pacing the Blue Raider Back row
Tankesley has been a key player for the Blue Raider back row this season. The junior libero leads the team in digs (348) and digs per set (3.70). Similarly, the Landisville, Pa. product has played in all 94 sets for the Blue Raiders this season. The junior ranks ninth among conference competitors in digs per set in C-USA matches (3.63). Tankesley's best performance of the season includes recording a season-best 32 digs against Robert Morris during the Blue Raiders first tournament this season to average 8.00 digs per set. Respectively, Tankesley has earned two All-Tournament team honors this season.
