PASADENA – Middle Tennessee quarterback Brent Stockstill has been invited to play in the eighth annual NFLPA Collegiate Bowl. The game is set for January 19 and will be played at the Rose Bowl.
Stockstill will be the first Blue Raider to play in the game since Jimmy Staten and Sammy Seamster in 2014.
Stockstill has essentially rewritten the Middle Tennessee record books in terms of passing yardage and passing touchdown marks, as well as 300-yard games, 400-yard games and completions. He is currently sixth on the all-time C-USA passing list with 12,165 yards, and his 18 games of 300-plus yards are tied for fourth most all-time in league history.
Stockstill will play his final game as a Blue Raider on Saturday night when Middle Tennessee faces Appalachian State in the New Orleans Bowl. Kickoff is slated for 8:05 PM CT and will be broadcast nationally on ESPN.
