Lady Raiders Meet UAB for a Thursday Afternoon Contest

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Middle Tennessee women's basketball team travels to Birmingham, Ala. to take on UAB on Thursday at 11:00 a.m.
The Lady Raiders (16-10, 8-5) are coming off a defense driven 51-41 victory over Rice while the Blazers (21-4, 10-2) enter the contest coming off a 80-71 setback to Charlotte, to record their second conference loss of the season.
The Senior Legacy
Senior forward duo Gabby Lyon and Rebecca Reuter are two of 28 players in Middle Tennessee's program history with 500-plus rebounds and 500-plus points. Lyon tallies 519 rebounds and 506 points while Reuter has inked 515 rebounds and 732 points.
Similarly, senior Abbey Sissom currently ranks sixth on the career 3-point field goal percentage list with a .370 clip.
Series History versus UAB
The Lady Raiders and the Blazers meet for the 17th time in the programs all-time series history. Middle Tennessee leads the series 10-6 and 5-2 against UAB when competing in Birmingham, Ala.
Scouting the Blazers (21-4, 10-2)
UAB was picked seventh in the C-USA Preseason Coaches' Poll however; the Blazers are currently in second place in the C-USA standing, one-half game behind WKU.
The Blazers are led by a trio of guards including Rachael Childress who averages 14.6 point per game. Childress is followed by Deanna Kuzmanic (12.8) and Miyah Barnes (11.5) who also average double figures.
UAB has connected for 206 3-point field goals this season and 32 percent of the team's 652 total field goals have come from beyond the arc.
