FINAL RESULTS
GREENSBORO, GA – Middle Tennessee wrapped up play Tuesday at the Linger Longer Invitational where they finished 11th with an 878 total. The 54-hole event was held at Great Waters Golf Club at Reynolds Lake Oconee (par 72, 7,073 yards).
No. 8 Alabama won the event with a 24-under par 840 score followed by Georgia (842) and third place Penn State (856).
"Marcus (Byrd) and Tyler (Johnson) had solid weeks for us," said Head Coach Brennan Webb. "As a team, we did not drive the ball very well or make many putts. We continue to search for some help from the bottom of our lineup and we are going to need someone to step up as we head into postseason if we expect to be successful."
Marcus Byrd led the way for Middle Tennessee on the final day and for the tournament. Byrd had a late birdie to card a 1-under 71 on Tuesday to tie for 10th overall.
Tyler Johnson had a 73 in the final round to finish 2-under par for the tournament. Johnson tied for 13th after collecting XX birdies over his 54 holes.
Chip Thomas turned in a 76 on Tuesday and tied for 53rd overall while James Beckner tied for 64th after a final round 75.
Ilari Saulo had an 80 on his final round and finished in 84th place.
The Blue Raiders will be off until April 7-8 when they compete in the Irish Creek Invitational in Kannapolis, NC.
