MT falls to UAB in game two of series

BIRMINGHAM Ala. – Middle Tennessee (26-27-1, 11-17-1) lost a heartbreaker in game two of the series vs. UAB (21-30, 13-16) by a score of 6-5.
The Blue Raiders struck first for the second game in a row when Ryan Kemp singled home LA Woodard in the third inning. Kemp finished his day with two RBI's and increased his hitting streak to 20 games. Aaron Aucker would follow Kemp's hit with a single to left field, scoring Austin Dennis.
MT would come back in the fourth inning and continue their offensive output. Myles Christian hit a sharp single to right field to score Drew Huff from second. After MT scored a run on a sacrifice fly, Aucker would once again single to left field to drive in his second RBI of the game.
Freshman Zach Keenan got the start for Middle Tennessee and had one of his best performances of the year. The right-hander went his longest outing of the season, going six innings, while striking out seven and walking only one.
After scoring three runs in the sixth inning, the Blazers would tie it in the eighth inning with a home run to lead off the inning. UAB would score the winning run in the bottom of the ninth on a sharp hit to right-center field.
Junior Drew Huff put together three hits in four plate appearances, and scoring a run.
The Blue Raiders will close out the regular season tomorrow afternoon as left-hander Peyton Wigginton is slated to get the start. First pitch is scheduled for 1 p.m.
