MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – The Blue Raiders look to climb back up the conference standings this weekend as they take on the Bulldogs of Louisiana Tech in Ruston, Louisiana.
The Blue Raiders will need continued production from second baseman Ryan Kemp. Since returning from injury, the senior is batting .447, driving in 11 runs on 17 hits. He also boasts an 11-game hitting streak and leads the team in home runs and total bases in the last 10 games.
Junior Blake Benefield also had a nice weekend at the plate vs. UTSA. Benefield went 5-for-11, driving in seven RBI, including a three-run home run in game three vs. the Roadrunners.
For the Bulldogs, their top four hitters boast a .300 average or better through their first 46 games. As for their pitching staff, Louisiana Tech has a conference low 2.72 team ERA, with opposing teams hitting just .240 against them.
Senior Jake Wyrick will get the nod on the mound Friday night. Wyrick went 5.1 innings, giving up just two runs while striking out seven batters and picking up the win last Friday vs. UTSA.
