MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – Middle Tennessee placed three players on the C-USA All-Conference team, with outfielder Austin Dennis earning first-team honors, and first baseman Aaron Aucker and pitcher Jake Wyrick earning second-team honors.
Dennis earned first-team accolades at the utility position and with good reason. Dennis played centerfield, shortstop, and second base, and he also was one of the team's top relief pitchers during 2018.
For the second straight season, Dennis started every game for Middle Tennessee and was a versatile part of the Blue Raiders offense and pitching staff. At the plate, Dennis led the team with a .345 batting average, driving in 35 runs, and scoring a team high 62 runs. The speedy outfielder also led MT in stolen bases with 25. On the mound, Dennis held the second-lowest ERA on the team with 4.03. In 13 appearances, he struck out 22 batters and earned three saves.
Aucker finds himself on the all-conference team for a second straight season. The senior led C-USA in total RBI (71), second in home runs (14), and second in doubles (18). The Preseason All-American also boasted a .340 batting average while also leading his team in total bases (132) and slugging percentage (.623). Aucker also started all 55 games for the Blue Raiders this season.
Wyrick earned second-team honors in his final season in a Blue Raider uniform. The southpaw had the lowest ERA (3.56) on the team in his team-high 13 starts. Wyrick led the team in wins (5) and strikeouts (82). In conference play, the senior posted a 3.23 ERA with batters hitting .206 against him.
