Egbeniyi Qualifies for NCAA Outdoor Finals

EUGENE, Ore. – After the second day of the national championships, Abike Egbeniyi advances to the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field finals in the 800-meter event after claiming a second place finish in her heat this evening.
Egbeniyi earned a spot in the 800-meter finals after inking a season best 2:03.18 finish. The Lagos, Nigeria native earned a 6th place finish overall in the semifinals to earn first team All-American honors.
Egbeniyi is set to compete in the women's 800-meter finals on Saturday, June 9 at 6:44 p.m.
Meanwhile, Edidiong Odiong claimed a 9th place finish in the 200-meter finals. Odidiong notched a personal best 22.81 to earn a spot on the second All-American team.
