Blue Raiders Well Represented in Pro Baseball

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – Middle Tennessee currently has several former baseball players who are active in professional baseball across all levels of the sport.
Lefty Zac Curtis has proven to be a reliable option out of the bullpen in both Triple-A and in the Majors.
Curtis is currently a member of the Triple-A Lehigh Valley Iron Pigs, an affiliate of the Philadelphia Phillies. So far on the season, Curtis has been solid in his time with the Iron Pigs posting a 2-2 record with a 3.68 ERA. Earlier in the season, Curtis was called up briefly for the Phillies, and did well in his time on the mound, posting a 1.86 ERA in seven appearances as a reliever this year.
Fellow pitcher Matt Blackham is currently with the Double-A Binghamton Rumble Ponies, an affiliate of the New York Mets. He previously played for the St. Lucie Mets, a Class-A affiliate of the Mets, before being promoted.
Blackham has done well for both teams this season. In his time with St. Lucie, he posted a 4-1 record with a 1.90 ERA. Following his promotion, Blackham has an 0-1 record with a stunning 0.90 ERA.
Shortstop Riley Delgado has been strong at the plate this season for the Rome Braves and the Florida Fire Frogs, both affiliates of the Atlanta Braves. He began the season with the Rome Braves before being promoted to the Fire Frogs. For the season, he has posted a .324 batting average with two home runs and 46 RBI's.
Austin Dennis is one of the most recent Blue Raiders to join the ranks of the pros, and currently plays Short Season Single-A ball for the Tri-City ValleyCats, an affiliate of the Houston Astros. So far on the season, Dennis is batting .242 along with seven RBIs.
Shortstop LA Woodard is another recent addition to the pros and currently plays for the Kingsport Mets, an affiliate of the New York Mets. Since being drafted, he has posted a .265 batting average and six RBIs.
After signing with the Traverse City Beach Bums, Ryan Kemp has been on a tear. The infielder is hitting .444 through five games, including three runs and three RBI's.
