"I feel honored to be able to represent both Danbury and Middle Tennessee," said Antonini. "It is always a good feeling when you get recognized for something that you worked hard for, especially in this league, which is considered one of the best summer leagues in the country."
Although Antonini has only played in 24 games for the Westerners, He is still 5th on the team in batting average (.280), 5th in hits (24), and 3rd in home runs (3). Antonini also reeled off a 7-game hitting streak at one point during the season.
As for the Westerners, they are currently in 5th place in the Southern Division but sit just 5.5 games back of first place and are on a three-game winning streak.
After starting 38 games last season for the Blue Raiders, the junior will be looked upon to help lead MTSU next season.
"It means a lot to be playing well knowing I will be one of the leaders for Middle Tennessee next year and I'm hoping to carry this momentum with me next season," Antonini said.
The All-Star game will be played Sunday, July 29th at Mackenzie Stadium in Holyoke, Massachusetts. Pregame ceremonies are scheduled for 4:10 p.m.
