Blue Raiders Set to Host Golden Eagles on Sunday

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – The Middle Tennessee volleyball team will welcome Southern Mississippi to the Alumni Memorial Gym on Sunday, Sept. 30 at 1p.m. for its first Conference USA home match of the season.
The Blue Raiders (4-10, 0-2) enter the contest after a hard-fought battle versus LA Tech last weekend while the Golden Eagles (7-9, 1-2) travel to Murfreesboro after a five-set loss against Western Kentucky on Thursday, Sept. 27.
Last Time Out, Middle Tennessee versus LA Tech
Last time out, Middle Tennessee dropped a four-set decision to LA Tech on Sunday, Sept. 23 in Ruston, Louisiana. The Blue Raider attack was led by redshirt-sophomore Aubrie Huddleston, recording 14 kills while hitting on a .500 clip.
Mason inked her second double-double of the season in the match against the Lady Techsters, recording 12 digs and 11 kills.
Similarly, senior Regan Coughlin controlled the Blue Raider defense, notching 15 digs from her backrow position.
Blue Raiders Rank Among Top-Individual Performers in Conference USA
Four Blue Raiders represent Middle Tennessee as the top performers in the conference in five of the six statistical categories.
Mason is represented in three categories, including kills per set (17th, 3.04), service aces per set (10th, 0.30) and overall average points per set (15th, 3.57). Meanwhile, setter duo freshman Sarah Sumida (11th, 8.43) and junior Taylor Hammill (13th, 6.38) rank among conference setters in assists per set. Junior Brienna Tankesley rounds off the Blue Raiders individual rankings, sitting eighth among C-USA opponents in digs per set (3.91).
