Coach Toman Announces 2018 Fall Schedule

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – First-year Head Coach Jim Toman has announced the 2018 fall baseball schedule, which features 16 scrimmages, including two fall games at Reese Smith Jr. Field.
The fall officially kicks off with the first practice on Thursday, Sept. 6, with a scrimmage on the following Friday and Saturday.
Toman hopes to use this fall to instill his coaching style and to improve the players' skills for next spring.
"We are hoping to implement our coaching philosophies offensively, defensively and pitching wise," Toman said. "We want to learn the player's abilities and work on their weaknesses so everyone can continue to get better."
Middle Tennessee will also hold a Pro Scout Night on Sept. 13th beginning at 6 p.m.
Blue Raider fans will be able to see their team in game action when Walters State comes to Reese Smith Jr. Field on Saturday, Sept. 22 at 1 p.m.
The second and final fall game will take place on Thursday, Sept. 27 at 6 p.m., when the Blue Raiders play host to Columbia State.
"In the games, we will be able to see who steps their game up in a real game atmosphere and who competes the best," Toman said.
The Blue Raiders will finish out the fall from Oct. 10-12 with the Blue/White World Series.
Practices are closed to the public but fans are encouraged to see their Blue Raiders at Reese Smith Jr. Field during the 16 scrimmages.
