Abike Egbeniyi Named National and Conference Athlete of the Week

Middle Tennessee Senior Abike Egbeniyi was named Female Athlete of the Week by both the USTFCCCA and Conference USA on Monday.
Egbeniyi ran a new personal best of 2:03.77 in the 800m, which now stands as the fastest time in the country and the second fastest in the world this year.
Her mark also set the record for fastest indoor 800m by any Nigerian Woman in history.
This is the first time that Egbeniyi has been named National Athlete of the Week during the indoor season and the first time that Middle Tennessee State has a National Athlete of the Week during the indoor season. This is also MT's first C-USA Athlete of the Week this season and the first since Egbeniyi won the award herself last February.
