LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The fifth and final event of Blue Raiders' fall schedule is here as the Blue Raiders prepare Thursday for the opening round of the 16th annual Cardinal Cup hosted by Louisville.
The Cardinals' home event is held on the University of Louisville Golf Club in Simpsonville, Ky., and will play at Par 72 and 6,261 yards for the weekend's 17-team field.
Middle Tennessee will once again see rival WKU in the field, while Louisville will also host Ball State, Campbell, Chattanooga, East Carolina, Eastern Kentucky, Kansas, Kentucky, Mercer, Minnesota, Murray State, Richmond, South Dakota, Washington and Wisconsin.
The event will provide some challenging opponents for Middle Tennessee to go up against with Kentucky checking in at No. 20 in the initial Golfstat poll of the season, while Louisville (42), Washington (55), East Carolina (57) and Chattanooga (59) each land in the Top 60.
"We are ready to go out for our last tournament of the fall and end the first half of our season on a positive note," Head Coach Chris Adams said. "We have had some good rounds this fall but would like to go into the winter knowing that we have more to look forward to in the spring."
Adams will employ the same lineup she has used all season with juniors Sophie Burks and Caroline Caudill leading the way and sophomores Madison Smith and Catherine Caudill plus freshman Molly Bebelaar also making their fifth appearances of 2019-20.
Rookie Taylor Edlin will also be in the field this weekend, making her first collegiate appearance as she competes individually at the Cardinal Cup.
Catherine Caudill will tee off first for the MT lineup at 11:50 a.m. on the first tee box with Bebelaar, Smith, Caroline Caudill and Burks to follow in 10-minute intervals.
Edlin will tee off on number 10 at 10:50 a.m.
