Cross Country Set for College Station

MURFREESBORO, Tenn.—The Blue Raiders are looking to keep up the pace and claim another first place title as they travel to College Station, Texas this weekend for the Arturo Barrios Invitational hosted by the Texas A&M Aggies. They will face a field of 28 teams total, including four SEC programs, six from the Big 12 and nationally-ranked Oklahoma State.

Season at a Glance
The men's team has jumped in rankings significantly since the very beginning of the season, working its way to No. 26 after week one, and currently debuting at No. 17. The Blue Raiders have come out on top at all three meets they have participated in so far this season, including the Memphis Twilight Classic, Commodore Classic and most recently, the Greater Louisville Classic.
Jacob Choge and Kigen Chemadi have also jumped up in the individual rankings, with Choge debuting at No. 8 and Chemadi at No. 10 in the FloTrack Rankings. The Kenyan duo have placed Top-3 in every meet this season. Most recently, the Blue Raiders competed in the Greater Louisville Classic on October 5 when Choge and Chemadi placed second and third out of 373 runners, leading their team to a first place title.
The women's team has also shown extraordinary progress this season, placing third in Memphis, seventh at the Commodore Classic and claiming the gold in Louisville. Juniors Eusila Chepkemei and Joice Jebor also finished second and third in Louisville. Additionally, Chepkemei was awarded C-USA Female XC Athlete of the Week honors for her performance.
The Opposition
The impressive 28 team field includes SEC schools such as Florida, LSU, Mississippi State and Vanderbilt, and then Big 12 programs such as Baylor, Oklahoma, TCU, Texas, Texas Tech and No. 14 Oklahoma State. Oklahoma State ranked seventh in the preseason National Coaches' Poll, but has since dropped to No. 14 after week four, still proving to be a strong opponent.
