Lady Raiders Prep for Regular Season in Final Exhibition Against Martin Methodist

Murfreesboro, Tenn. - The Middle Tennessee Lady Raiders will take on Martin Methodist tomorrow at 6:30 p.m. in the historic Murphy Center. This will be the Lady Raiders final exhibition game before opening the regular season in Greenville, N.C. against East Carolina.
In their first exhibition game of the preseason, the Lady Raiders defeated Bethel University 64-53 in front of a home crowd of 2,139. The Lady Raiders were led by sisters Anastasia Hayes and Aislynn Hayes who combined for 28 points, seven assists, and five steals.
Freshman Courtney Whitson made her debut in the blue and white by recording a double-double. The Kingsport, Tennessee native notched 12 points and led the team in rebounds with 10 on the afternoon.
Sophomore Alexis Whittington accounted for half of the Lady Raiders makes from beyond the arc connecting on 3-of-5 from deep. Whittington finished the contest with 12 points and five rebounds.
Martin Methodist comes to Murfreesboro posting a 2-1 record. The Redhawks have spread the scoring around having had four players score 20 point or more in their three games this season.
In their last game the Redhawks defeated Cumberland University by a score of 71-66. Martin Methodist was led by Erin Freeman in scoring with 30 points on 9-of-16 shooting, including 11-of-15 from the charity stripe. Freeman also grabbed eight rebounds, one shy of tying the team high of nine held by Lacey Reed.
After the exhibition against Martin Methodist the Lady Raider will face ECU for only the second time in program history on Nov. 6 at 10 AM. The two teams first faced in Greenville on Feb. 26, 2014 with the Lady Raiders coming out on top with a 70-59 victory.
