MURFREESBORO, TN. – The Middle Tennessee Blue Raiders (7-9-1, 4-4-1 C-USA) have the chance to control their destiny into the Conference USA tournament. All they need to do is win. The Raiders will host UAB Blazers (4-6-6, 2-4-3 C-USA) on Friday for #SeniorDay. Kick is set for 7 p.m.

PIVOTAL WIN
Middle Tennessee secured their fourth conference victory on Friday morning after defeating Southern Miss (7-9, 2-6 C-USA) in the downpour rain by a score of 5-0. The Blue Raiders had four different goal scorers on the night with Peyton DePriest scoring two and Amber Hoot, Maddison Falter and MacKenzie Bonham each putting one away.

The Blazers are currently sitting in 11th place on the C-USA standings. In 2018, Michell Hudgens led the Blazers 4 goals on the season and Eve Beyer has been solid in goal with six shutouts. UAB is in the bottom five in the major offensive rankings and on the other hand they rank top five in the four major defensive rankings.

Sitting at a three way tie for 6th in the Conference USA standings with UTEP and LA Tech, the Blue Raiders only need to win to punch their ticket into the tournament. If they lose or tie, the Raiders will have to await results in the ODU/Charlotte and UTSA/UTEP games. The top eight teams during the regular-season, as determined by points, will advance to the tournament. Winner of the single-elimination tournament will advance to the NCAA Championship.

Senior midfielder Amber Hoot has started an impressive 68 games in her career (leads the team). On the defensive back line, Casey Riemer has anchored the line in 64 career starts (second on team). Riemer and Hoot have combined for over 120+ career starts and 11,000 + minutes played.

Junior forward Peyton DePriest is tied for first all-time in program history with 38 career goals scored after her two goals against Southern Miss. She is just a goal shy of breaking the all-time record which is held by Holly Grogan with 38 goals scored.
