Chepkemei Named C-USA Female XC Athlete of the Week

MURFREESBORO, Tenn.—Cross country's Eusila Chepkemei has been named the C-USA Female XC Athlete of the Week for her top-level performance at the Greater Louisville Classic in Lousiville, Ky. Saturday morning.

The Blue Raider women's team faced 39 teams total over the weekend and finished on top, placing first with a total time of 1:27:03 and 103 points. The Kenya native led her team for the second time this season, coming in at second place overall out of 343 runners. She also posted a new personal best in a 5K with a time of 16:51.8, more than 20 seconds faster than her previous best, which she ran in the 2018 C-USA Championships in Boca Raton, Fla.

The next race for the Blue Raiders is the Arturo Barrios Invitational on Saturday, October 19 in College Station, Texas.
