TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – After a successful season full of program high rankings and several first place finishes, the Blue Raider men's cross country team finished 31st overall at the NCAA Championships Saturday afternoon.
With the weather conditions being 35 degrees and rainy, senior Jacob Choge made it to the finish line first for the Blue Raiders, finishing 137th overall and a total time of 32:16.0. Senior Kigen Chemadi was second to finish for Middle Tennessee, coming in at 171st and a time of 32:35.3. Both Choge and Chemadi went into the Championships ranked at No.8 and No. 9 in the country, and the team as a whole No. 13, the highest in program history.
The men finished first in the four regular season races it competed in, as well as the Conference USA Championships when both the Blue Raider men and women took home titles. They also came in second at the NCAA South Region Championship, sending them straight to the NCAA Championships.
