MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – The Middle Tennessee softball program announced the signing of Juliana Lane on Monday. Lane turned in her letter of intent and will join the Blue Raiders for the 2020 season.
Lane is a left-handed pitcher hailing from San Diego, California. She played travel softball with Breakers Labs and took third place in the 2018 CIF Open Championships and the 2018 TCS Colorado Fireworks 18U Power Pool. A few years ago, her team was the 2016 PGF National Championship 16U – Runner Up.
Juliana plans to major in psychology at MT and eventually obtain a PhD in Cognitive Neuroscience. She is the youngest in her family, with two older brothers, Joshua and Nicholas.
"We are anxious for Juliana to get on campus next fall," said Head Coach Jeff Breeden. "She is going to add depth to our pitching staff and will be extremely useful to our personnel matchups since Conference USA is loaded with left handed hitters. We expect her to come in and compete for a position from day one."
Lane is now the fourth member of MT's 2019 signing class. She joins Kelci Hill, an outfielder from Murrieta, Calif.; Sydney Hughes, a utility player from Brentwood, Tenn.; and Kaylee Richetto, a power hitter from Mount Juliet, Tenn.
