Women's Tennis Falls on the Road to Marshall

HUNTINGTON, W. Va. - After losing the doubles point, Middle Tennessee's women's tennis squad couldn't rebound from its' rocky start at Marshall, falling by a score of 4-3.

In doubles play, Marta Peris Herrero and Lidia Burrows gave the Blue Raiders their lone win by a score of 6-1. It was junior duo's fourth doubles win of the season and their first in conference play.

Costanza Maggazinni knotted the match up at one-all when she took her sixth singles' win of the season by a margin of 6-0, 7-5. Zani Barnard followed up Maggazinni's effort with a 7-6, 6-3 win of her own. The win got Barnard's singles record back to .500 at 3-3 on the year.

Marta Peris Herrero rounded out what was one of the more impressive days of the season for her by winning her singles tilt in three sets: 6-3, 4-6, 6-2. The Manuel, Spain, native improved her singles record to 4-3 while notching her first in-conference victory on the year.
