ATLANTA, Ga. – The Middle Tennessee Track and Field team claims three top place finishes at the Yellow Jacket Invitational on Saturday in Atlanta.
Hear from Head Coach, Dean Hayes
"This meet was a great start for some of our newer, younger athletes and help us accomplish some early season goals. Even though the weather was extremely cold, we were able to get half of our team in the rhythm of the outdoor season and came out with three first-place finishes. We are looking forward to next weekend, having our full team competing at Vanderbilt and preparing for two distance meets in Texas and North Carolina".
Middle Tennessee Claims Three First-Place Titles
Isaac Odugbesan opened up the day on the field for the Blue Raiders, claiming a first-place win in the men's shot put. Odugbesan rose to the top of the heat, notching a 17.66m distance in the throwing event.
Likewise, Jacob Patten dominated on the field, notching a first-place finish in his best event, the men's high jump. Patten claimed the title of the field event with a height of 2.10m, .05-meters higher than the second-place finisher.
