MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – After being on the road for the last four games, the Blue Raiders are ready to return home to face Belmont before going on a seven game road trip.
Last season the Blue Raiders swept Belmont in their two game series, beating the Bruins by an average of 14.5 runs.
Junior Aaron Antonini has been a leader of late for the Blue Raiders. The catcher started all five games last week, and batted .500 while driving in eight runs during that time.
Last season, Drew Huff broke the Middle Tennessee single game RBI record against the Bruins, driving in nine runs. Huff on the season is batting at a .298 clip.
Scouting Belmont: The Bruins find themselves three games below .500 early in the season. At the plate, Belmont is batting just .238 but are led by senior Zach Ehrhart, who leads the team in hits (15), RBI (10), and batting average (.326).
On the mound, the Bruins have allowed 90 runs in 11 games. They also rely on getting strikeouts, averaging one strikeout per inning.
Looking Ahead: Middle Tennessee will face their toughest stretch of their schedule as they travel to SEC foe Kentucky for three games, and then to Alabama for one game. After that, the Blue Raiders open up conference play at UTSA.
