SAN DIEGO, Calif. – Middle Tennessee put valiant effort in but No. 42 San Diego was too much as the Blue Raiders lose a hard-fought 6-1 decision to the Toreros.

Luisa Zirilli stretched her singles win streak to five matches as she gave the Blue Raiders their only point of the match. After San Diego claimed the win, Zirilli continued to battle on court six falling in the first set. She then forced a third set by taking the second. With all other matches finished she was able to pull out the win to improve her record to 8-3.

The Blue Raiders dropped the doubles point quickly as Toreros took the second and third matches. Unfortunately, for the Blue Raiders, they were only able to capture one singles win despite pushing San Diego to the limit in several sets. Costanza Magazzini, Zani Barnard and Zirilli all went to third sets.
