MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – After sweeping WKU at home last weekend, the Blue Raiders look to continue their winning ways in C-USA as they play host to the UAB Blazers for a weekend series.
Blake Benefield has produced the most power at the plate of late for MT. Benefield has blasted four home runs in his last four games, driving in nine runs.
Not only has Aaron Antonini been the most consistent at the plate for the Blue Raiders, but he's also gotten the job done behind the plate. Antonini leads C-USA in runners caught stealing with 19. He should be busy behind the plate this week as the Blazers have already attempted 109 stolen bases.
Scouting UAB: The Blazer will do anything they can to get runners in scoring position and that includes stealing bags. The Blazers rank fifth nationally in stolen bases (86) and seventh in steals per game with 2.5. Jess Davis leads the team and the nations in stolen bags with 32.
UAB comes off of a home series against Old Dominion where they lost two of three, two of those games being extra inning affairs.
Last season, the Blue Raiders were unable to sweep the Blazers on the road, taking two of three and missing the conference tournament by ½ game.
